In either case, it seems inappropriate here.

Hi,

Are you aware that you made a forest in the middle of an apartment complex? That doesn't seem correct. You also marked the area as construction.

Can you please explain or revert this edit?

Much of what I ended up doing with OSM felt more painful than helpful.

For example, organizing the local meetup- many times no one came.

Working on the DWG- I was subject to harassment (including verbal abuse online stalking and references to my loved ones).

Working on the software side, even when I was officially given help and support through Google Summer of Code, it was always a struggle to get that code approved by the powers that be.

When I worked on the State of the Map, one person with a personal vendetta tried (unsuccessfully) to disband the entire committee to kick me off.

The UK community in London is full of great folks, but it's at its core very much a closed community of people who still think of OSM as a hobby project that they control.

The US is full of corporate players who use money to try to influence the project to allow them to have more direct control in order to increase profits, and the project be damned.

And then we have a lot of people around the world who are just jerks.

I've met some wonderful people through OSM, some people I consider some of my closest friends, but the emotional toll that being in the community has had on me over so many years doesn't leave me wanting more.

I didn't die, I just realized that OSM was more a cause of pain in my life than joy.

How do Bing Maps tell you about what the building is?

29604877 about 9 years ago

There's no way Bing imagery can tell you what the speed limit is. So if it's Bing Maps. it needs to be removed.

What is this? It's a blank area?

There are comments on your changesets, can you please reply to them? If not, then these questionable edits will need to be reverted.

It looks like ChrissW-R1 hasn't been active for about two months, so it's unlikely they'll reply. I think a revert of this probably makes sense, and either I can do it or you can Peter.

This is clearly an import. Did you go through the required Import Guidelines? osm.wiki/Import/Guidelines

What is the source of the name of this object?

33474957 almost 10 years ago

What is the source for this data? This looks a bit like an import to me.

Also, please do not put hashtag notes in objects.

33412972 almost 10 years ago

This changeset is a bit strange. What is the source of this data?

It's not Bing, as indicated, because there's no way to know some of the information that's on the object, just from Bing.

In addition, the changeset comment does not explain the change at all.

sorry I was looking at the wrong changeset here

It is not possible that Bing imagery has the name of this cave entrance, so where are you getting it from?

33385935 almost 10 years ago

This changeset includes a few tracks that have been deleted, and doesn't include a changeset comment. Can you please explain why you're deleting tracks?

30900385 about 10 years ago

All of your changesets have the same comment. This is not very helpful. Can you please use changeset comments that are meaningful and describe the specific thing that you've done?

Stalker61, why are you abbreviating the names of the lakes? They were already correct. As per the OSM naming guidelines:

osm.wiki/Names

Names should be unabbreviated.

This import is harming the emergency mapping efforts in Nepal. Reverting.

30738122 about 10 years ago

The fact that there is an earthquake doesn't change the fact that we, as a community, have not had the opportunity to vet this import. We have already had complaints about how it's been disruptive to the emergency mapping.

Will you revert it (and the other import changesets?

30738122 about 10 years ago

This appears to be an import. I don't see discussion of it as per the import guidelines. If I am wrong and there has been a discussion, please reply back to this changeset ASAP so we can resolve this.

If I don't hear anything soon, I will need to revert this changeset.
