It looks like you're trying to fix the NJ landuse import. Do you have any thoughts on just removing the entire thing (other than where folks like you or I have edited it?)

I've gone ahead and reverted this changeset, though it looks like others have already fixed most of the problems (ie the US/Mexico border).

One thing would be great though, which is in your changeset descriptions for you to be more descriptive about what you're changing, because right now they all say "Adding Pease Golf Course Objects".

All your changesets have the comment "Adding Pease Golf Course Objects", which isn't the case.

In this changeset you're modifying a lot, including country borders. Can you explain this in more detail?

I see this is one of your first OSM edits. . This changeset came to my attention because the comment is "added a gas station", but it actually does a great deal more, including adding a number of objects which don't exist, such as roads in the middle of the ocean.

I'm going to revert this edit, but please only add objects to OSM that are ground verifiable.

I'm guessing that you're part of the dentist business that you've added. It's great that you've added that to OSM. Just a quick note that in the future, if you add other businesses to OSM, to know that we tend to like objective facts over subjective ones- so I've removed the note tag that you added that talked about a friendly environment, etc. because that's subjective. But otherwise, great first edit!

SMP, the issue of whether or not specific information from Wikipedia can be used in OSM is separate from the issue here, which is that it's clear that you're mass copying data from Wikipedia into OSM, which is covered under the import as well as mechanical edit guidelines. This mass editing of names is clearly covered by these guidelines and are at the core of my concerns.

Regarding the issue of license incompatibility between Wikipedia and OSM- this is a complex topic, but you've already stated that your edits were at least partially from another copyrighted resource, which is certainly not allowed in OSM.

Thirdly, at least some of the translated names you offer seem like transliterations, rather than any actual translations, or names that are in common use. This is exactly the kind of issue that can be discussed in detail when an import or mechanical edit is discussed beforehand.

I'm sorry that you don't like the quality assurance steps that OSM takes.

Are you saying that all of your edits, going back several years, use from other non-approved sources, rather than being something which you surveyed yourself or used, eg Bing imagery to trace?

I see you've stopped adding these objects, but now I'd like to see if we can clean them up.

I ultimately didn't have the time to go through this and fix all the errors and my next week looks equally bad, so I'm just going to go ahead and revert his changeset, which is a real shame because there was some good work mixed in with the not-as-good stuff.

So now the question is which changesets do we need to revert.

SMP, since we'd like to avoid needing to revert more than we need to, can you help us identify the changesets where you've set the names? Otherwise we'll have to try to figure it out, which may result in more changesets being reverted than necessary.

What is the source of these added names?

You might want to add that to the source for the changesets- right now it just says bing.

Is there a reason you've removed this ship from OSM and replaced it with your own drawing based on imagery?

Please explain these changesets before making more.
