It's only set as an area with nothing specified. I'm guessing this is a building? You should make sure to select the building type from the left.

Yeah this is probably due to the way the iD editor handles merging.

Anyway I fixed it.

No it's all one building, Just a different roof.

OK, I tried the changes you suggested. Not sure if it's what you wanted exact to how you said.

I have tried JOSM, but find it a bit too complex, that's why I used iD.
