Recording tracks

if you use sports tracker it draws onto the osm where you have run in real time so you can see if that path is there or not on the map.

Recording tracks

I use sports tracker for walking, bikes

great stuff, coming up on my 100th house soon

Eastgate or High Street?

love this background info you dig up doing OSM.

dependancies" and "relations

and then there's the case where the building has 3 addresse points in 3 street and the node way makes perfect sense, and also have a building in a street, but the addresse are at the back into another street, again the node way is used here. I have used both ways and find the node does a better job. :)

House Numbers

adding source is also helpfull, and don't tag house numbers in along with the Building tags, numbers should be a node inside the building as buildings can have two or more addresses and yet still be the same building :)

buildings disapear at different zooms

yeah they prob not been fully rendered yet.

Eastgate or High Street?

well I do know that the post office is 130 high Street and theres a Eastgate Terrace running off high street and theres a Eastgate cottage on the high street,

and fun in getting all this data, found out so many new place I did not know where just round the corner :)

Getting started

Cat Nick (neuk) is the name of a small valley in the craigs and not the name of the peak

Animal trails

yeah Pascal on the ground mapping wins all the time :)

Animal trails

I have been in the hills and have seen sheep trails ect, I would not add those to the map, as they change from month to month, and are mostly only there if there are sheep on the hills at that time of the year.
The rule I use is if its used by Humans and is a stable path then its added as a path, I tend not to added shortcut paths on hills.

One Year of OpenStreetMap
