Ti ho scritto una email sui vari punti sollevati, possiamo proseguire lì?

167237785 about 2 months ago

Inoltre se una way è una via ferrata, si mappa così: highway=via_ferrata via_ferrata_scale=n ed eventualmente sac_scale=..

167237785 about 2 months ago

https://www.cai-fvg.it/sentieri-cai-fvg/settore-3-dolomiti-friulane-alpi-prealpi-carniche/ferrata-regolo-corbellini-2/

I fixed the ways of:
osm.org/relation/19211211 because they were crossing a pedestrian area which is a polygon and this is not considered correct by JOSM. I added a small way that crosses the pedestrian area. I personally do not consider it an elegant solution, but I think it is the only possible one.

I have some doubts about this path:

1) I don't think it's from CAI (Italian Alpine Club)

2) Are you sure the path respects the wiki? osm.wiki/Tag:route%3Dhiking#Tagging_walking_and_hiking_Route_Networks

Unfortunately, iD does not support reordering relation members, so you’ll need to switch to JOSM for that. Here are two helpful English-language resources with step-by-step instructions and screenshots:

JOSM Wiki “Help/Relations”: https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Help/Relations

Help OpenStreetMap thread “Re-ordering / sorting ways in a relation”: https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/8197/re-ordering-sorting-ways-in-a-relation

In JOSM, there’s a “Sort Members” button built into the Relation Editor that will automatically arrange all the ways so they follow the actual hiking path. Here’s how to do it:

Open your hiking relation

Select the relation tagged type=route and route=hiking (or route=foot) in JOSM.

Launch the Relation Editor

Press Ctrl + Shift + M, or go to Edit → Edit Relation.

Click “Sort Members”

In the Relation Editor window, find and click the Sort Members button (usually an icon with three horizontal lines and an arrow). JOSM will reorder all ways so they form a continuous walking path.

Save and upload your changes

Close the Relation Editor and press Ctrl + S (or click the save button) to commit the updated relation to the server.

For more details on corner cases—like circular loops, alternate branches, or disconnected segments—please refer to the full documentation linked above.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you run into any problems.

They replied:
The signs on the ground are very old and perhaps ambiguous, they tell me that upstream going down there is a sign that indicates the track towards the east.
Therefore they will send someone to redraw the signs on the ground and they said that your change is fine because the wooded track is more protected from the floods of the torrent.
They also updated the official GPX file: https://trailsfvg.42web.io/GC/MxGpxView.html?fileGpx=605%202025T-V2.gpx
So everything is ok, let's leave your changes, I will only update the order of the ways in the relation that are messed up.
many thanks and good mapping.

thank you very much, I will send the photo to CAI right away. I will inform you of their response.

This is the official .GPX file of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club), the organization that maintains the trail and physically draws the symbols on the ground:
https://trailsfvg.42web.io/GC/MxGpxView.html?fileGpx=605%202022T-V1.gpx

If you also set the "waymarked trails" layer, you can see your biggest variation: the one that starts at 800 meters and reaches 900 meters.
Passes on a forest road that exists, but it is not the official CAI trail.

I'll try to ask the CAI for confirmation.

Your other minor variations could be valid, I haven't checked them.

Have you personally hiked trail 605?Have you seen the trail markers (osmc:symbol=red:red:white_stripe:605:black) on the variation of the route you mapped?

164556230 3 months ago

non l'avevo mai notato, ho corretto

165520623 3 months ago

https://osm.mapki.com/history/way/194492555

163318230 3 months ago

Ho controllato i dati ufficiali CAI e corrispondono a quanto mappato su OSM.

144084615 4 months ago

sorry, this is the way: osm.org/way/211464367

144084615 4 months ago

You're right, the changeset is quite large and I wasn't very precise: I was referring to this: osm.org/way
there are duplicate names that are already present here: osm.org/relation/2833805.
Regarding rivers, I almost never map them and therefore I have no experience, so I ask you, in the case in which the watercourse is very short (a few dozen km) does it make sense to duplicate the names on the ways? Isn't it more logical to set them on the relation?

144084615 4 months ago

Why did you set the names on "way"? Are you aware that there are names on "relation"?
