can’t find a suitable type of point for this - anyone have any advice please

in fact the building doesn’t seem to exist on openstreetmap - try this in google maps - 51.569538, -0.415587

I’d say it’s probably an historic=fort, building=yes and building:use=whatever it’s currently used for.

Another possible option is osm.org/way/1023802472
