2nd pedestrian crossing was actually at Cedar Hills and an entrance into a mall; Jenkins already has crossing marked.

A benchmark appears to be regarding elevation (vertical!), and often in the side of a pillar (though I *think* I've seen them in the side of a wall/building):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benchmark_%28surveying%29
With a pillar being used for horizontal positioning?
Although I just tagged the broad hill one with survey_point=triangulation, it may well have a "benchmark", and key=value1;value2 doesn't work well, so maybe man_made=survey_point+triangulation_pillar=yes+benchmark=yes? Possibly a tagging list discussion is warranted; I've not looked on taginfo too much either.

Just looking at trig points and wondering if the man_made=survey_point is specifically a survey_point=triangulation.

I've not surveyed stops for some time, so it's interesting that these longer refs have started appearing. Did you notice the ref on the 'flag' (sign with the common bus numbers and short name?). I'm aware of NaPTAN. Maybe we should aim for various refs so this can start to make more sense (long/short/naptan/atco/local).

38706889 over 9 years ago

Where did you get the longer one from, though? Certainly if bus stops just have the 'flag' part, with or without a shelter, and no time-table, is the longer ref actually openly obtainable?

Great to have these not be bus-stations any more :) Just a little query: the refs seem much longer than that I've put on a lot of other bus stops, where I've taken the one off the sign or the (bottom right of?) the timetable.

As far as I can tell, this does have a wall around it, so am adding this back in. Please comment if you believe this is inaccurate.

I've gone with waste=dog_excrement to make things a little more clear, as it's likely just to be for bags of...that... to go in! Also, reading it literally, it makes me think of bins to throw waste dogs into ;)

27312572 almost 10 years ago

Are the waste baskets here more accurately waste=dog_excrement ?

Please see my comment on another of your changesets regarding this.

For tagging of CCTV, please consider tags such as listed here: osm.wiki/Tag:man_made%3Dsurveillance
For example, with
man_made=surveillance
surveillance=public
surveillance:type=camera
Please ask if you need more help; I could retag but I don't know exactly what was there :)

33640122 almost 10 years ago

Thanks for the additions.
In future it would be useful if you could split your edits into smaller chunks, with more descriptive text for what you've changed (and why). This makes it easier to see what has changed later.
For example, I can see you added some roads near the high-rise buildings to the north, but also around the pub and housing office.
If you accidentally delete an object, please undo that change before saving, rather than recreating the object. I'm not sure if that's what's happened with the Shopping centre.
I look forward to working with you :)

What's the source of the peak data?

Please explain how there is not a wall around here?

32920290 almost 10 years ago

Normally pitch is associated with a specific area and sport; see osm.wiki/Tag:leisure%3Dpitch
For that reason I would suggest leisure=park is more appropriate. For comparison, the rectangle inside is marked as a leisure=pitch, and should probably have a non-grass surface tag from what I've seen from a distance.

By my understanding, this lane is not the Gibberie Wallie, but rather this refers to stonework/'fountain', possibly located in the fenced-off square area?

Thank you for trying to help, but the street tag and name are more relevant upon the school area - which already has a name and streetname.
If the issue is the alternative name (with 'primary') then this should be in an alt_name (alternative name) tag which allows for searching to find it, though perhaps it is debatable which is which in some cases. Please discuss if you wish, but I have cleaned up the duplicate name in changeset osm.org/changeset/33128315

Thanks for your edit! In future it would be useful to add a description of your changes in the top-left box, before saving, so that others (and yourself in future) have an idea of the change you have made (and perhaps why).

Thanks!

If you fix a change which is related to a note, please comment on the note and/or resolve it if you think it is appropriate.

I assume that these 'extra' paths were extensions of other paths?

I am now wondering if the way was originally between the Costa and the footpath, ie. connecting the bus station and the centre of the shopping centre?
