145108582 | over 1 year ago | @kurusubrooks, the definition of Secondary/primary and trunk are exactly the same between Data SA and OSM wiki guidelines. Territory roads on the other hand do have a different meaning between Data SA and OSM guidelines. What are you trying to say here? |
145108582 | over 1 year ago | you just dont understand anything, you are good at manipulation but theres not an educated thought process here. Do you realise our government has given us these sources so we dont have to guess and even have these talks. When the wiki mentions road classifications it does so with the understanding that there is no source available. which is most of europe and africa and large amounts of the US. we are lucky to have this available to us. Using manipulation against me doesnt work mate. |
145108582 | over 1 year ago | pretty bold statement considering any changes outside of a source would be "one mappers" opinion. you dont seem to trust the word of a mapper as much as I trust a mappers interpretation of a road classification. which is why we use a source. territory roads can be changed accordingly. |
145108582 | over 1 year ago | thats the biggest flaw with this project, discussions take place everywhere and anywhere its all officially undocumented. people just normally leave things alone and find their own stuff to work on. |
145108582 | over 1 year ago | you need to understand that the trunk/primary and secondary roads have been discussed with DWG members and the SA OSM community, if you can not agree to leave these roads alone then our DWG member needs to take action against you. You dont get to decide how these roads are classed, we have chosen to use the official government source as the rule. territory roads and the other hand can be interpreted differently because our government uses the collector classification based on bus routes, and that is different to the territory meaning. |
145108582 | over 1 year ago | this is a quote from the wiki "Secondary highways are generally specified by country road classification bylaws and assigned a ref=reference name." |
145108582 | over 1 year ago | you have no clue how much work people have put into this map, and you choose to argue with the people who have got it to this point. everything was and has been discussed and thought of. |
145108582 | over 1 year ago | all the trunk roads, primary roads and secondary roads in south australia are classed based on fact and they comply with OSM guidelines. by changing the class of these roads you are vandalizing the map. these roads are not classes based on anybodys interpretation of the wiki, the are classed based on facts |
145108582 | over 1 year ago | I have reported this edit to the board and DWG members |
145108582 | over 1 year ago | just noticed the changes in this changeset, im putting back the secondary roads that were removed please consider a discussion before changing the class of roads. |
145363304 | over 1 year ago | thankyou |
145314458 | over 1 year ago | you dont unserstand, by upgrading it to secondary status you are saying that section is built to handle secondary traffic. it has a train track close to a intersection and it goes through a industrial area and it is single lane. it is not designed to handle secondary traffic. maybe territory status would be ok. i=but the intention is not to route secondary traffic through this tiny lane. it would be very dangerous for trucks and bus's , the eastern parade/expressway intersection is designed for heavier use.. |
145314458 | over 1 year ago | your interpretation does not make a difference to facts, unless we just change the wiki to what "fortera_au thinks is right" |
145314458 | over 1 year ago | I am putting this back to residential, please consider opening a discussion before creating secondary roads as they impact routing significantly |
145018824 | over 1 year ago | where did I split the road? you started this by commenting on my changeset and you were wrong |
145018824 | over 1 year ago | no thats all thankyou, after forteras rant about splitting the roads fortera has gone ahead and split the roads now. So it was a baseless argument to begin with sorry for bringing you into it. and I hope it doesnt happen again |
145018824 | over 1 year ago | that was a routing edit, I made it so you couldnt do a u-turn either side of that island thing. I didnt create that island is was already there |
145018824 | over 1 year ago | yeah the part that you dont get is that I never split the roads |
144928924 | over 1 year ago | @fortera, like I said I just make the roads as a 1:1 with the official and constantly updated government source that we are allowed to use |
