Improving Canonbury and Mildmay Park | Are you aware of the local OSM meetups in London? osm.wiki/London/Winter_2012-2013_Pub_Meetup |

“Sidewalks” | Here is a map showing the use of the sidewalk tag: http://www.itoworld.com/map/126 |

The 'My GPS is better than Your GPS' types of edits. | To really improve accuracy you need a really, really expensive professional GPS, which you stand for a few moments in a place while it averages out any error. In some council areas in the UK, the bus stops that we have imported have been done to this accuracy, which annoys them when OSMers adjust them based on their little inaccurate GPS. |

Mapping is hard | It’s not the first time that I’ve heard of similar things happening. I’ve had it happen to myself in the past. |
|
GPS trace uploading is down?? | Seems keeping up to date now. |

OpenStreetMaps booksprint | http://booki.flossmanuals.net/openstreetmap/_full/ is a preview HTML version. |

Westfield Stratford City mapping party | There's plenty places in London that need TLC. That evening I updated a part of Bromley High Street with all the shop changes in my map somewhere completely different from the mapping party tradition. |

Potlatch 2 save button moved to opposite side of page---ugh. Please change it back... | There will be lots of similar small changes happening based on the same research to be able to make it easier for new people to get started and to continue mapping. There was a presentation at State of the Map EU this year about it. |

Potlatch 2 save button moved to opposite side of page---ugh. Please change it back... | It was moved after studies shown that new users automatically went to the top left to find the save button. This change is designed to make the experience for the new user much better Potlatch now places the save button where every other app out there places the save button. Expect the zoom bars to move to the other side. |

Anybody know what's happened to Matthew Somerville ? | Matthew Somerville is perfectly alive and well. He does respond to messages, though there can be a massive delay in doing so. Querying further will probably just cause a further delay in you getting a response. |

Wanting to create a map | Is what you're looking for is a varient of Google My Maps? |
|
Project of the Week Pitch Problems | leisure=pitch is something specifically designed and maintained for sport. On the other hand leisure=field is usually left to nature to be overgrown and usually isn't maintained for a specific sport. |
|
Wo Fehler in der Radfahrerkarte melden? | highway=road should only be used for temporary use when you don't know the road type. The cycle map doesn't render highway=road. Try changing it to the type of road it actually is, such as residential or unclassified, and it will show up after a while. |

How do I correct my wrong tags? | There is currently no easy tool as far as I'm aware. Best to slowly change them as you come across them. If they are in a small area you can load that area into JOSM do a search and then edit that tag on all of them at the same time. |

Southwark buildings and Mulberry Bush mapping last week | That wasn't my OpenLayers book, i just happened to be taking a quick look at Ollie's copy. |
|
Edinburgh buses maps etc + Scottish pies tomorrow | All of the Lothian Buses timetables are available online in PDF format, which is unlikely to be easily parsed. The PDFs do have all the road names that the bus routes go down. It may be worth contacting them, as they have a very good customer service department. |

Slow response in Potlatch | Bots should just be banned. |

Reykjavík, Iceland to commission a cyclemap based on OpenStreetMap data + potential data donation | London and Edinburgh both have fairly good cycle data coverage in OSM. |

terrified by Google maps | Yeah I noticed that a couple of years ago when I got my first GPS for use with OSM, and now avoid Google maps as much as I can. |
