starting to map eastern montreal (canada) | I managed to get a cheap bluetooth gps from Amazon UK for 22 GBP, including postage. There is some slightly more expensive models that should be better. You may want to look into gpsd. |
OSM server congestion? | Potlatch is really slow, especially when you are editing in a large window. |
The Thames at Belvedere | It isn't done due to lack of resources. It is also the fact that the tools are only now starting to be in a state to be able to do very recent updates. |
Balham roads with no names | Excellent your excited about mapping. Are you likely to come up to the central london mapping parties over the next 3 weeks? |
A taxing experience ... | I've found that OSM has had hotels that I was staying at on the map, but didn't actually search to see if they are there, until I had gone the long way around to get there. |
Amsterdam Trams | You need to make separate ways, sharing nodes if they share the road, otherwise there is an undefined result as to whether the way will be tram or a road. |
Pentlands paths (edinburgh, Scotland) | Excellent. Might be worth looking into the nonames on your way? http://dev.openstreetmap.org/~random/no-names/?zoom=12&lat=55.93095&lon=-3.20673&layers=0B000 |

Unnamed roads | Do you know about the no names map? http://dev.openstreetmap.org/~random/no-names/ |
Tulse Hill mapping meet | It's actually TrackMyJourney. |
Scottish box | You may find that there is a problem with the renderer or the coastline. |
Bicycle parking (cycle racks) - capacity Q/wonderings | I put the number of bikes that can be parked there, which is usually 2 per loop. Last night I seen bikes up on rails behind the bike racks, as the bike racks were full on platform 8 of London Bridge station. |
Mobile GMaps is great software.. but | You will find posting on the MGMaps forum more useful. I use TrackMyJourney (TMJ) on my phone. |
Newcastle is looking sexy... | I wouldn't go for a cheap point and shoot camera, as it won't be good enough for taking pictures of signs far away or on the move. I have a Panasonic DMC-TZ3 camera with a 10x optical zoom. It is fantastic for taking pictures of street signs on the move or far away. http://www.flickr.com/cameras/panasonic/dmc-tz3/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/smsm1/ if you want to see some of the photos I've taken with it. |

Olomouc | Mind you their town has lots of unnamed roads. http://dev.openstreetmap.org/~random/no-names/?lat=49.5922&lon=17.25247&zoom=15 |
Caledonia Road | I came across a couple of streets at the weekend that were unwayed segments before, and still hadn't been touched. |
Queensland Government urges Google Maps to catch up | How accurate is Brisbane in OSM? Some evangelism, mapping parties, and publicity won't go amiss. Please drop me a message so that I don't miss your response. |
Who is adding administrative boundaries ? | You could try sending the user a message? |
More Canning Town detail | Hi, Hope you don't mind that there is a mapping party due to be held in Canning Town a week on Wednesday? osm.wiki/index.php/London/Summer_2008_Mapping_Party_Marathon Do you know any pubs in the area? Shaun |
my OpenStreetMap talk is now on SlideShare | Have you sent it to Gareth Eason too? osm.wiki/index.php/State_of_the_map |
Crossing ways aka Josm Validator | It probably would have said similar results before you made the edits. |
