Hi, how did you decide that Calder Close is crossed by the footpath, bing is clear enough to see that this is not the case however if there is a connection it is a footpath link. The detail is obscured by a tree and needs an on the ground survey, as detailed in my nearby note.
What was your reason for picking this obscure area to 'fix'?

Would you like me to revert if for you?

Is this a members place, or is it open to the public?
If members only then it should be tagged amenity=social_club.

Hi
Welcome to OSM, I think something has gone wrong here as Taunton Leisure is a very odd name for a supermarket.
Maybe a different shop= tag should have been used, what does the shop sell?

Hi, I think this something went very wrong with this changeset. I have reverted it as it damaged a main road in Liverpool and you added your business name to a footpath also in Liverpool despite claiming a wirral postcode.
Please bear in mind that anything in OSM needs to be verifiable on the ground, work from home businesses are not normally allowed unless there is clear signage.
The area already has buildings drawn, so adding a node is not really appropriate here. You should add tags to the actual building concerned.

Hello, welcome to Openstreetmap.
I think something has gone wrong with your edits, you seem to have added some untagged ways that make little sense to me.
Maybe we can help, what are you trying to achieve?

Hi
Welcome to osm, thank you for contributing .
You should probably add an office=company tag to the node.
It would be really helpful to us if you can add tags for other shops and businesses in the area.
Cheers Phil

Hi
I think something has gone wrong here, you appear to have added a node named Merthyr Tydfil, but that already exists osm.org/node/89056717

What were you trying to achieve, maybe I or another member of the UK community can help.

Hi Craig
I think something went wrong here, there is no police station at osm.org/node/3287847683
Just wondering what you intended?
Thanks Phil

Hi Makda
You should add footways that connect to the road at the crossing points and then continue them to join the other paths.
You may need to move the traffic lights back to the stop line and then change the node where the footway and road intersect to highway=crossing.

Keep up the good mapping.

Hi Makda, should the paths not connect to something so that they can we accessed?

Hi Nick
Sorry, I thought I had pasted the overpass link but I have just realised I forgot it.
This should run and display the names so far, http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/7uB
As you add more fields, you will need to adjust the map area and then press run.

Cheers
Phil

You have stated that the source of this information is google maps. Google maps are copyright and cannot be used in openstreetmap. Please do not use copyright data in openstreetmap.

Hi Nick
Others within the OSM community believe that the correct tag to use is field_name, and we certainly think this is valuable information.
I have changed the fields that you have added to reflect this.
Openstreetmap is primarily a geographical database, that can be rendered in multiple ways, the mapnik renderer that you see on the main site is just one of many. A future wish of mine is a walking render that shows stiles, gates and contours.

There are various tools which allow you to produce your own maps, http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/ is one and overpass turbo will also display maps with custom data. This link will display the field_name tags for Lubbesthorpe.
This does look an interesting project, so definitely go ahead.

Are you absolutely certain that these towpaths are actually cycleways. Did you visit and actually check? Towpaths tend to be narrow, and whilst cycling is allowed cyclists are expected to be considerate to other users of the path.
I do not remember these towpaths actually being wide enough to be considered cycleways. I believe they should be reverted to footway with perhaps bicycle=yes.
The mapper who had previously added these paths is someone I would consider the goto guy for both cycling and canals.

Hi Nick
It would be useful to see the document, openstreetmap is very strict on using open sources of data. I hope it is ok, because I think it is good stuff.

I will PM you my email address.
From a tagging point of view, name should only be used for things that can be seen on the ground, so in this case the tag to use is name:historic.

Thanks Phil
