Is it possible to have access to statistics about the application of tags to GPS traces?
ߊ߬ ߟߊߦߟߍ߬ߣߍ߲߬ ߦߋ߫ vVvA ߓߟߏ߫ 15 April 2013 ߦߋ߫ English ߟߋ߬ ߘߐ߫ ߟߊ߬ߞߎ߬ߘߦߊ߬ߟߌ߬ ߞߐߟߕߊ 18 April 2013 ߘߐ߫The tagsinfo site is pretty good for showing the stats for the tags of geographic objects in OSM. However it does not show information about tags applied to GPS traces. I wonder if it is possible to have access to this kind of information. I am trying to figure out what is the frequency of application of the “walking” and the “cycling” tags in the GPS traces that are uploaded to OSM. Thanks, /andres

Good question - I don’t know for sure, but I don’t think there’s any easy way (not without resorting to importing the full GPX data into your own Database and running queries against it – eek! – see http://github.com/iandees/planet-gpx-dump for the gory details)

Thanks for your reply robbieonsea. I will ask in the help site to see if there is a way to gather this kind of information without having to import the full GPX data and then run queries against it. That will be a time consuming process indeed!
