Please ensure that you check / know that features exist, optimally by visiting it in person. As the Perth editing community is small some edits can take weeks if not years to be identified, while other issues can go undetected.
You marked that there were traffic signals on Whatley Crescent in Maylands. That crossing is a Police Traffic Warden controlled Children's Crossing. No traffic signals exist, or are planned.

Further to this you also removed some important tags which made roads unpasssable, issues with oneway restrictions, and tagged Lord Street as secondary, when it is best practice to follow the Main Roads Western Australia tagging guidelines (even if they are a bit outdated, and may not reflect the usage). Not to be harsh or anything, but just since the Perth mapping community is small it can take months if not years for problems to be picked up especially if they are not obvious, so it is important to get it right first time.

Regarding these roads they all had the following tags:

fixme=REMOVE REDUNDANT TAGS WHEN YOU EDIT THIS WAY
construction=motorway_link
highway=construction.

The correct procedure would have been to tag ALL the roads with their construction=* value which was motorway_link, then check over ALL the keys, and remove the redundant ones (i.e fixme=* and construction=* in this case) You removed some values, and not others and tagged the road incorrectly.

I suggest you review the wiki pages and guides for tagging, as the Perth mapping community is small and problem edits can take months if not years to be corrected.

I downloaded data from Kalgoorlie in a rectangle to the ocean directly south and directly west.

I undertook selected JOSM validation edits which could be performed automatically with a high level of confidence including duplicate nodes, blank nodes without any tags, and nodes part of the corner of a building, close to 90°

(Select a few of the nodes in the list and have a look)

The reason why the changeset area extends to Europe must be something related to an ocean relation and a node modified as part of a way within that relation.

Unfortunatley you have done the following:
You have prevented turns from Tonkin onto Reid and vice versa, navigation apps cannot use this data.
You have misclassified the road.
You have not removed the construction=* tag
You have not addressed the fixeme=* tag and the important notes in it
You have broken existing relations.

Please make sure that you do high-quality edits, as the Perth OpenStreetMap editiing community is small, and it can take months (if not years) for poor quality edits to be noticed and corrected. Functionality / getting it right the first time is more important than doing a quick fix for outdated data.

I have reverted this edit to simplify a fix.

I must strongly advise you to check your edits as there is no road at this location.
The road was realigned in March 2017.
The "highway=track" road should have been retained as it was.

Please do not make edits unit you confirm the data. Some mistaken edits are not picked up for years. This one took two months which is quick.

Note however, please do not intentionally or unintentionally disconnect or remove roads. Several roads in this and other edits made by yourself either disconnected or removed nodes so that roads were no longer connected. It is not beneficial to the OSM mapping community if you do these kind of edits. Cheers,

Generally it should be an exact match.

Urban Areas:
primary distributor = trunk or motorway (motorway is a controlled access road (i.e only slip-roads to enter and exit the road, no houses, driveways or traffic signals))
distributor A = primary
distributor B = secondary
local distributor = tertiary
access road = residential or service (or track/ cycleway/ footway depending on circumstances)

Non-urban areas:
As above, except:
regional distributor = primary

Exceptions are when there has been construction which would affect the road heirarchy, and not yet updated on the MainRoads WA website or where ever else you are sourcing this information from.

or some other road condition which does not match reality (i.e a dead-end road shown as a through road by MainRoads and as a tertiary road, should perhaps be downgraded to residential, or a road which does not exist, or exists only as a narrow unpaved track *depending on the specific circumstances.

Note in regional W.A. many roads should still be marked as a higher classification as per MainRoads, even if they are 4WD only dirt tracks, as they may be the only significant access route to the area.

FIrst off, sorry if I came off a bit too harsh previously! It is fantastic to have someone editing in this area!

It is a bit hard to work out imagery dates, as you could have one date for an image in one area, and several kms away it could have been taken on a different day.

Living in Perth, what I tend to do is look at a recent thing that has been built or changed and see if it shows up on an the aerial images.

I had a quick look and worked out the following dates for the iD OSM website editor:
DigitalGlobe Premium (2012)
DigitalGlobe Standard (2014)
MapBox (August to November 2016)
Bing (mid-Jaunary to mid-February 2017)
ESRI (mid-February 2017 to mid-March 2017)
In my previous comment I was mistaken, saying ESRI was older, it is actually DigitalGlobe stuff which is significantly older. ESRI is the most recent imagery in the iD OSM webstie editor.

99% of the time these aerial images are good, only for the newer stuff can it be a bit more tricky. Personally I have found a mix of searching the web for info and maps and visiting places on my daily commute enough to get my info.

Like you have been doing, I also use a lot of Landgate data and maps from data.wa.gov.au, for things like road names, in combination with the JOSM program to do edits where you can overlay maps using the WMS (web-map service) links from the data.wa.gov.au website. But, they are removing the old SLIP Enabler services at the end of December, and changing things, so these services might not be available soon.

So really any and all information you can get your hands on, you can use to check stuff. In terms of websites these three are very helpful:

Please make sure to verify your edits, you should not be using outdated third party information to do editing. ESRI imagery is more outdated than MapBox imagery for this location. You should not be basing your edits on either of these sources for this location.

Even if you have no familiarity with the area and have never visited it before, you should verify your information, the highway=construction and construction=motorway ways should be enough to alert you that you should verify your edits.

just a reminder to check how to classify roads in the wiki. Currently this road is not a motorway, not in practical terms, official terms, or by OSM standards. Until there is control-of-access on the road it cannot be a motorway.

Regarding your edit, and just in my opinion, it is not productive to reclassify roads to unclassifed. although I can understand your motive behind it. Sometimes it can take years for an area to be looked at again by another mapper, and in that time the map will be inaccurate. Roads in OSM in W.A. are classified according to their offical classification.

Each individual area has its own individual name, and together these six areas form the Swan Estuary Marine Park.
I tried having a look earlier for a common and approved way tag, but found none. Maybe you know of one and can update the tagging accordingly.

Unfortunately I don't have the time to fix this, and would appreciate if you know how, could update the map to reflect your recommendations.

Hi shinjiman, thanks for your edit :) Just following up and letting you know that when you edit to check that you remove redundant tags if possible. This is harder on the ID (web based) editor. This is just as the tag construction=service was still on these ways and should have been deleted. Cheers :)
