Hey WJtW,

What is your source for height information?

Hey Jaap,

Hey geozeisig,

"It may be tempting to tag building=* on any stationary aircraft, given the relatively poor renderer support for historic=aircraft areas. However, this is a stretch of the key's intended meaning that is often frowned upon because it causes some data consumers to make incorrect assumptions (see below). There is such a thing as an airplane house (analogous to a houseboat), so it is best to keep a clear distinction between these dwellings and other aircraft that happen to be stationary."

Hey ACTtsocathe,

Welcome to OpenStreetMap. I see that you have over 1000 changesets and have been mapping buildings at your own pace. I also see you have requested review in the past and have not received any feedback, unfortunately.

Head over to https://learnosm.org/en/ to learn more on mapping. It will help you map correctly.

Also, could you please reply to this comment?
It would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, this is the correct procedure.

I've neglected this fixme in the past because I was getting to grips with OSM editing. Right now this fixme is not high on my priority list either.
It is very easy to report issues with BAG viewer, you should try doing so yourself. This may also help you when working on other areas.
Note, buildings which are under construction or marked "(niet ingemeten)" can have wrong geometry but shouldn't need reporting. They will be correctly digitized eventually.

103658647 about 4 years ago

Hey Tilia,

Your changes to osm.org/way/297435587/history do not seem to resolve my note. Sorry for not being more specific, there's a part on the south side which seem to differ from the BAG import (likely demolished). Also, since it's now a year later, it also seems like they built a new extension in its place, which faces a different direction.
Someone will have to make a re-import of the geometry, or report with BAG if this isn't yet reflected on their website.

Hey eggie,

Groeten,

Daniel

Hey Hiausirg,

Fixed some minor issues from this changeset in
osm.org/changeset/103110163
Mainly accidentally merging nodes.
Try to be careful when using iD.

Happy mapping.

Ok. However, "One feature, one element" applies here: osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element
A volcano or volcanic vent is in principle a geologically active lava flow and so is the lava field. Adding the same status tag -or a similar tag, which can be seen as tagfiddling- to the lava field area surrounding the volcanic vent node is considered bad practice.

101856130 over 4 years ago

Hey Morten Lange,

In my personal opinion, a status tag is not appropriate for areas such as volcanic lava fields.

Lava flow is active in the same sense water and mudflows (i.e. landslides) are active; they can be actively flowing -which is mostly passive, as it is caused by gravity which is an external force-. Parts of it may be active, others may not. This can change on very short timescales.
Also, almost no uses of the active=yes tag or similar tags are known -for this purpose-.
Furthermore, their size and any relevent features will be adjusted where needed regardless of status.

A volcano or volcanic vent can be active in the sense that it is (often) erupting. This changes on longer time scales.

Hey BubbaJuice,

Do not abuse hashtags in changesets, please. They are meant for linking changesets to a project the changeset is part of to make it easier to patrol changesets in said project.

Changesets such as this may also be considered as bot edits.

Hey there,

If you are unsure how to tag an object, please check osm.wiki/
You can also start learning OpenStreetMap at https://learnosm.org/ (some information may be outdated).

You have made numerous changesets where you have used incorrect tagging for residential areas and mapped places as areas instead of nodes. Also, you should not use capital letters when tagging unless adding a name.

Hey Dave,

Some suggestions:
osm.org/way/801318694
Adding access=private and sport=tennis

osm.org/way/698052937
Adding railway=signal_box

osm.org/way/609346246
Removing description "More than just a pub Free WiFi". This is not a description; add this information as a note and remove said note if you have added the information. In this case, you have already tagged Free WiFi and there is currently no way to tag social activities held by e.g. a pub afaik. You can find these activities on the website.

osm.org/way/545282062
Re-connecting this area to the water and adding a proper barrier tag. Alternatively, filling in the disconnected area with whatever was supposed to go there(?).

osm.org/way/469679019
On Bing, this looks like grass with large trees and a couple of defined ponds, not a scrub. See also osm.wiki/Tag:natural%3Dscrub

osm.org/way/396860741
Adding garden:type=arboretum
See osm.wiki/Key:garden:type and https://www.theparkstrust.com/our-work/great-linford-manor-park-heritage-fund-project/arboretum/

osm.org/way/856060113
On Bing, this looks like a meadow, not farmland. See osm.wiki/Tag:landuse%3Dmeadow

osm.org/way/837856025
Private parking is not mapped as an area. This should be mapped as a way with highway=service, osm.wiki/Tag:service%3Ddriveway and access=private on the center of the driveway.

Hey there,

This turn seemingly can not be seen on aerial imagery. Also, assuming everyone drives on the right, it would be logical for this to be a right turn from Bayshore Boulevard onto Silver Avenue heading west.

I would assume you have surveyed this way. If not, you may want to review whether this turn exists and contact a local mapper if you're not sure.

I would suggest upgrading this way to a primary_link, assuming it's physically seperated from Bayshore Boulevard. See

Hey there,

Be sure to square buildings where appropriate, by selecting an object and clicking the "Q" button or by right clicking on it and choosing to "Square" it. You can also choose to make a building circular using the "Circle" option.
You can find more keyboard shortcuts in the Help menu in the right sidebar.

Also, try to map the whole building, even if it is partially covered by plants.

96802696 over 4 years ago

Salut,

Hey there,

Once I set a place=* on a coastline, I can unfortunately no longer see the direction (in/out) in iD. It seems it does still matter afterwards, as I expected. I'll try to be careful with this, especially seeing I might add more place=* tags in the future.

Thank you for the correction!
