- It is not on HEV or NLS maps
- It is in Loughill, not Ballyoskill like

Hey ViktoriaU,

Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap.

Make sure you follow the guidelines on adding names, especially abbreviated ones.
osm.wiki/Names
(others you added are abbreviated, but should likely not be.)

For other useful tips, see
osm.wiki/Good_practice

Also, are your changes also part of an [organised effort](osm.wiki/Organised_Editing) for 'walking data accuracy'? (just curious, eventhough it seems you are on your own)

If you have any questions about how to contribute, you can contact the (local) community at
https://openstreetmap.community/?map=52.35708,-7.70490&zoom=9
or open a thread on the forums
https://community.openstreetmap.org/

Hey GOduori,

Do not reclassify highways without proper reason, please.

This road is unlikely to be a secondary road.
- It only connects two secondary roads (and minor/private roads), not directly i.e. two residential areas.
- It was previously classified as 'unclassified', which in OpenStreetMap (OSM)-terms means
'minor road', see
osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dunclassified
Other roads in this area are also minor or tertiary, depending on their restrictions.
- It goes through a park, which might indicate restrictions / ownership.
- It is gated on both sides, which might indicate a possible physical barrier and restrictions / ownership.

It is not even possibly through-road.
Go to 'Edit' (this is the editor called 'iD'), and in the right sidebar click on 'Data Layers', scroll down to 'Photo Overlays'(street-level imagery) and choose Mapillary.
(there is a 'Date range' slider below)
- Destinations signed are minor; park, zoo..
(there is not clear image of all signs)
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=259616369186816&focus=photo
- It is signed as prohibiting 'commercial vehicles'.
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=1762891911107468&focus=photo
- The maxspeed is 30 km/h
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=1323198022270691&focus=photo
- Further down it is one-way single lane road
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=1186875451742658&focus=photo
- then becomes a 'No through traffic' / 'cul de sac'
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=142607761165803&focus=photo
- which ends at row of bollards at both ends
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=795899111312268&focus=photo
(at this way segment
osm.org/way/1037781266/history ); though image is from 2018.
- Onto Acres road there is a stop sign, so way does not have priority.
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=278653290630379&focus=photo
- Also last segment is one-way road in opposite direction, without priority.
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=1480276479182064&focus=photo

From your changeset comment, this change was based solely on getting improper/missing result(s) from a query using overpass.
From your changeset details, it is likely you used only the Bing aerial imagery (which, though it is the best in this area, is also the standard imagery in the iD editor); this is understandable, as you are a relatively new contributor.
However, it seems not based on survey, local knowledge (which may include news article), sources available in the editor or other compatible source (not proprietary/copyright, i.e. not Google Maps), nor does it explicitly mention a proper reason for reclassifying these highways in the changeset comment.

Incorrect result by such applications is usually an error in the query, or alternatively application, not directly in the map data.

Changing map data in such way is considered 'Mapping for external application' and is prohibited by OSM guidelines;
Changing map data (usually incorrectly) for application (i.e. renderer, browser, router, validator etc.) to return results solely for personal (sometimes malicious) reasons (i.e. different use / avoiding dev. work, decorative, opiniated/political, etc.). See also
osm.wiki/Tagging_for_the_renderer

Make sure to follow the (local) guidelines or concensus on for example tags for highways.
osm.wiki/United_Kingdom#Guidelines

Be careful when changing highways, especially reclassifications but also roads with relations (i.e. bus routes, turn restrictions). Editing these without prior knowledge, especially with the basic iD editor, might accidentally introduce errors (moving nodes, disordering or breaking relations). It is better to make such advanced changes with more experience and JOSM editor.
osm.wiki/JOSM
(Changes on larger scale should be discussed prior with the (local) community.)

Also, you should provide a proper description and reason of your changes in your changeset comment when saving (preferably for most if not all changesets), so other mappers can understand and validate your changes more easily.

osm.org/node/8262678986
POIs sharing address with building is not always wrong (depends on local consensus) and in some cases is explicitly added to distinguish objects / locations.

134762232 3 months ago

Hey Michael,

Be careful when validating/editing.

osm.org/node/10801169425/history
I assume you extracted artwork node from wall. Why did you do this?
Artwork node on wall is usually okay, even if of type sculpture/statue/installation/... (which this is not)

osm.org/node/10801169424
survey point is even explicitly usually part of wall or similar.
osm.wiki/Tag:man_made%3Dsurvey_point

Do not blindly trust the validator application(!)
osm.wiki/Good_practice#Don't_remove_objects_that_you_don't_need_or_like

If object is too close to something else then it might be better viewed with a different editor application / check if editor application has a way to do so, i.e. in iD press W for wireframe mode, or in iD/JOSM use data filters, or in 3D editor select level/layer.
If it shares a node with entrance / highway it is not always wrong, some mappers may just approach this differently.
Accepting fixes from validator blindly may also result in connecting it to different, unrelated objects.
You can always ask in changeset from contributor why they placed it so close / connected it to something else.

Regards,

Daniel

Some poems can serve as a memorial, but this one seems to be more of a poem which serves as (journey-based) artwork. I would suggest using instead
https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/artwork_type=poem
(note, wiki linked on this page is offline apr 26 and there have been some outages due to scrapers etc.)

Also, the name is either some word(s) of the poem (usually first line), maybe somewhere mentioned in the book they wrote about this route, or no name ( in which case noname=yes )

For your information; it is part of a route and you are welcome to look for the other plaques and create a route relation (or site type relation, if you prefer, though it is mostly not supported) which includes every plaque (without a role). This route can then have a 'url' for example
https://www.visitzuidlimburg.nl/te-doen-in-zuid-limburg/routes-in-zuid-limburg/detail/gedichtenroute/60121/
(since there seems to be no official 'website')

Hey BhavyaKhatri,

Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

If you would like to contribute to the OpenStreetMap project, there are a few ways to do so, see
osm.wiki/How_to_contribute

If you would like to contribute to the iD editor, or similar applications, please read up on the Readme, Code of Conduct and Contributing files when they are available. They can be found on the GitHub repository, for example here
https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/blob/develop/README.md#participate
Feel free to make a PR on GitHub. Make sure to describe how you got to your solution and how you know it resolves the issue properly.
You can always ask for guidance. Make sure to describe what exactly you need help with.
Please note the OpenStreetMap project is on a voluntary basis. The project maintainer may take a while to get back to you.

Contributing map data can help in understanding the project structure. If you need any help with mapping, you can contact your local community at
https://openstreetmap.community/
or start a thread on
https://community.openstreetmap.org/

When testing application issues or your PR, it is important to test them locally, not on the live server. Such data does not belong in OpenStreetMap. See
osm.wiki/Sandbox_for_editing#Experiment_with_the_API_(advanced)

Dat is wel een kort segment met motor_vehicle=no, emergency=yes.
Pas verderop staat een access_sign node.
Ik verwacht de access-restrictie pas na de access_sign, behalve als de locatie van het toegangsbord is veranderd.

These are likely shelters/roofs for horses or similar?
They do not look like huts (or as Victor suggests, shooting cabins)
