This is a great changeset. In the future, could you add a source and a comment to changesets?

I want to make it clear that in this instance I am speaking on my own behalf and not representing the DWG.

US copyright law regarding facts is a complex topic in the context of OSM because we are also subject to British and European copyright and database law.

If you have any questions about legal matters, I'd strongly suggest you bring them up to the Legal Working Group. If you are a lawyer, I'm sure they would appreciate your opinion on the mater.

But until then, my understanding of the issue is that we are not allowed to copy any information from other sources, including names.

So I'm going to ask you to please remove the data that you've added from these secondary sources until/unless you can get an opinion from the LWG that this data is kosher.

You may also ask the DWG for its opinion on it the matter. Their email address is data@osmfoundation.org

My opinion is that this is copied data and therefore needs to be removed. I'd like to hope we can resolve this without the DWG stepping in.

I'd also encourage you to go here and just survey the buildings. I'd do so but I'm busy in the next few weeks, but it seems not that far from a PATH station, so it'd be doable.

Maybe we can even meet up for lunch/coffee while we survey it?

This is a huge changeset... What all is being changed here?

I see buildings being given addr:city, which is unnecessary, tags being added to the park...

In the future can you please edit in such a way that changes are more easily broken down? Also, can you please use a comment on the changeset when you commit it? That way others can see what you're doing.

You can't copy other maps that aren't explicitly giving permission to do so.

Is there something from the college saying we can use their maps?

As I said in the previous changeset, welcome to OSM. It can be hard to know exactly what to do on the map, but I've had to revert this changeset. That's because this object you've created doesn't correspond to anything that's on the ground.

If you have a problem with these edits, you can discuss them (such as is being done here) or contact the DWG (which has already been done). An edit war is not the way to resolve conflict.

These are some seriously awesome POI edits!

This changeset says that Atalla Handbag is at both 362 and 364 on 39th. It also says that they're the only things in those buildings.

Is this really the case?

One way to make your edits even better is to add a changeset comment when you add. I don't know Go Maps, but usually it's an option when you hit Save or Upload.

This edit adding a phone number and website to the amenity is great. One small thing to make it even better is when you hit Save in your editor, if you could be sure to add in a useful changeset comment, such as in this case "Added phone number and website to Crispin's"
