Hi, do you have a reference for these golf holes? I don't see anything in imagery, they're not within a golf course area, etc. If they are planned for the future, there are tags you could use to reflect that, such as the proposed: prefix. osm.wiki/Key:proposed Thanks

Maybe in some regions the place value happens to be the same as the legal designation, but you should not assume that it is everywhere. The admin_level value is what should indicate the type of jurisdiction, not the place value--check out the wiki (ie osm.wiki/United_States_admin_level) On your last point, I think you misunderstand--OSM is a global project trying to make data using shared definitions so it can be used by people around the world. But hey, don't take my word for it, join the OSM US Slack and connect with people there, it's a great community of people really committed to OSM. (https://openstreetmap.us/get-involved/slack/) Happy mapping!

@RDreher The "hamlet" got updated already in changeset 166228174. Regarding suburb, I'll note that OSM's "suburb" is not the same as how the word is normally used in the US. The wiki says "Use place=suburb to identify a major area in a place=town or place=city with a distinct and recognized local name and identity."

I can see an argument for changing the Storrs node to suburb, but changing Storrs Center to hamlet is not correct--according to the wiki, place=hamlet is "an isolated settlement, typically with less than 100-200 inhabitants". I think neighborhood ("area within a smaller settlement") makes as much sense as anything so think it should be changed back.

Hi, I was doing a cleanup edit in the area, and noticed all the buildings with their address in the name. Wanted to make sure you're aware that's generally not recommended in OSM--it's already in the "addr" fields. (see osm.wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only ) Great work you're doing in this area, though--happy mapping!

Hi, wondering why you added an incorrect tag to this point (and others in your area)? leisure=fitness_centre is correct, amenity=fitness_centre is not. osm.wiki/Tag:leisure%3Dfitness_centre It'd be great if you could clean those up. Happy mapping!

Hi, I happened to look at this changeset, and noticed the bunker on 14 where you made three sections to deal with some "islands". I redid this into the correct multipolygon format with one outer way, and two inner ways. Take a look and try to do that if this comes up in the future. Happy mapping!

For the edit inside the Hennepin County government center, did you mean to turn that into a long, looping escalator? (conveying=yes) I haven't been there, but I'm guessing it's multiple, separated escalators or something like that

Hi, thanks for adding to the map! One thing I noticed is that you're sometimes "gluing" areas to adjacent road ways. It's suggested to not do that and leave a gap for a variety of reasons, such as that it's not that accurate, and makes future editing more difficult. (see osm.wiki/Editing_Standards_and_Conventions#Areas_and_Ways_Sharing_Nodes) I get how it might seem "right" at first, though! Happy mapping!

Welcome to OSM and thanks for adding to the map! One thing I noticed is that you're sometimes "gluing" areas to adjacent road ways. It's suggested to not do that and leave a gap for a variety of reasons. (see osm.wiki/Editing_Standards_and_Conventions#Areas_and_Ways_Sharing_Nodes) Also, it's very helpful if you can somewhat differentiate your changeset descriptions--maybe what road you were editing near or town the edit is in? Just some suggestions from experience. Anyway, happy mapping!

Thanks for adding to the map! I'd suggest you look at the wiki page osm.wiki/Tag:house=terraced. house=terraced should be used if you're tracing each townhome unit separately. building=terrace would be used for the whole building if you're not getting that detailed. If you're going the latter route, it might make sense to use a point to tag each address where the entrance is. Hope this helps, happy mapping!

Thanks for putting in so much work adding to the map. A couple requests to improve your contributions: 1) can you add more descriptive changeset comments? 2) if you're adding a lot of landuse to an area, can you make some effort to have the edges match? You're creating a bunch of gaps and slivers that could be easily avoided with a little care. For example, look at the farmland between Honey Creek and County Hwy HK. Thanks and happy mapping!

Hi, I'm curious how you're going about creating some of this land use? For example way 1343061183 is natural=wood, but in all of the imagery (including those noted as used in the changeset) about half of the area you've traced is actually field. I've seen this in some of your other changesets as well. Do you have some older custom sources you're using, for example?

I noticed this edit. Looks like it's echoing a huge discussion on the Storrs wikipedia talk page.

Hi, was wondering if you can avoid gluing the former railway lines to actual features? I've seen examples where you share these nodes with buildings, landuses, roads, etc. which just creates more work for anyone who's editing actual features later. Also, from imagery I'm not sure if all of these are best tagged "abandoned" -- it appears "razed" would be better at least for some. The wiki says abandoned should be "where the rails have been removed but the route is still visible with ties/sleepers, signals or other railroad right of way signs or infrastructure".

There is also a section from Clayton to Clear Lake - looks like it's now called the Sawmill Trail https://thestcroixvalley.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/ParksDeptSawmillCountyTrail.pdf

hoping this involved samples! :)

Hi, thanks for contributing to OSM. I noticed a bunch of duplicate nodes appeared in MN and many seem to have come from this changeset because the warnings were not resolved before uploading. Please try to resolve warnings in the future, and it'd be great if you could fix these--see OSM Inspector https://tinyurl.com/bdzjf2td Happy mapping!

Hi, since you're editing this area, do you know if this construction was completed as planned yet? (The construction landuse is still there) I can see the new buildings in-process when slightly zoomed out on the ESRI World Imagery layer (not the Clarity Beta) and it basically aligns with your paths. Happy mapping!

That checks out with the county's online map. https://gis.hennepin.us/Property?C=477179.941168682,4989205.14278779&L=8&T=aerial&IMG=&ANNO=false&FID=0111821310148&VIS=
