No wonder I get these Déjà vu feelings

Opublikowany przez onion, 24.05.2010 w języku English.

I was fixing up some minor new roads after some construction work and I got this feeling that I have fixed the name for this one road years ago, and looking at the history (osm.org/browse/way/4065290/history) I was right. Sigh...
I just wonder how many of these kinds of changes have been made to roads with both Swedish and Finnish names.

if you use the name:se and the name:fi tags and fill in both names there should be no problem.

osm.wiki/Bilingual_street_names
Finland is also described here on this page about Bilingual street names

Finland

Some cities/places/streets have names in Finnish and Swedish. Use name key for the commonly used language (mostly Finnish, use Swedish version if municipality is mainly Swedish) and name:fi and name:sv for the specific language version.

Up in the north there are also different (3?) Same names, but I have no knowledge about these. (yet)

I know that, I've written that wiki entry myself. But if you look at the history, there where a swedish name first (as in that particular area, swedish is the primary language on road signs). Then someone else removed it and put the finnish name instead, without keeping the swedish name in some other tag, so it got lost.
