Bonjour / Hello

Is it possible to tag a road highway=trunk event it is accessible to slow vehicles. This case exists in France :

If I look at the wiki page, there is no speed notion about tagging an highway as trunk.

Y-a T-il une page du wiki sur ce sujet ? Is there a wiki page about this case?

Tous vos commentaires sont les bienvenus. All comments are welcome.

Bonjour zewan,

UK has plenty of trunk roads with no minimum speed.

There are many with two lanes and no divider (particularly in remote areas).

There may be some single-lane roads designated Trunk (correctly, following Government rules) in Scotland.

In Belgium, trunk is used for “route pour automobiles”. There is no minimum speed, but it’s not allowed for slow traffic (pedestrians, bicycles, agriculture vehicles …). It’s also not allowed to stop, unless necessary.

But this is in Belgium, it’s best to discuss this matter in France, and document it on the wiki.

We already have documented “trunk” in France. The problem is that some (very few) roads look like “voie express” but are not legally. They have the same maxspeed (110) and size (2x2 carriageways) but are not forbiden for slow vehicles. Then comes the question : is it a “trunk” or a “primary” ? Then come the question “what are the features of a trunk” ? For me, the maxspeed=110 and 2x2 carriageways are the main features for trunk where others think that access restriction to slow vehicles is the most important.
