Ich sehe da keinen Verbesserungsbedarf, ausser dass die a:h dort per Spur und nicht per highway gemappt sind, was falsch ist. Aber seis drum, das ist rein kosmetisch.

Solange die Spuren überfahren werden können, ist es eine einzige Strasse, sprich ein OSM-Element. Ein paar Meter Verkehrsinsel sind für mich kein Grund, das aufzusplitten, das ist zu wenig.

Der Bus fährt schon richtig, er hat ja ein separates Lichtsignal um links abzubiegen.

Habe tatsächlich auch gestern begonnen an dieser Note zu arbeiten, hatte da aber den Ansatz mit area:highway genommen, da mir die Verkehrsinseln für separate Highways dann doch zu klein waren. Nach ein paar Conflicts konnte ich dann unsere beiden Lösungen zusammenführen: osm.org/changeset/160640371 Im Zuge dessen habe ich auch die Zebrastreifen akkurater gemappt.

Vielleicht kann jemand von euch mal drüberschauen, es sind viele Änderungen und vielleicht habe ich irgendwo was vergessen.

Sharrows have a bicycle pictogram which clearly shows it wants to tell something about bicycles. These markings do not. It's simply a stripe that could mean anything. As I said, it's just to make the street look narrower. Besides, they're not yellow, they are some sandy-like colour, but not the typical yellow used for cycling paint in Switzerland.

We also have sharrow-like markings in Switzerland, similar to Bärengasse you also edited yesterday. They have a pictogram on them making it clear to everybody, that this is about cycling.

I don't know if we have a tagging scheme for these stripes. I think something similar was done on the VVRs, where we have the green stripes on it, but can't find it right now.

Creating some scheme for this could be difficult. Probably something in the direction of surface:colour.

These are "Farbliche Gestaltung der Strassenoberfläche" and they have absolutely nothing to do with cycling. They are meant to make the street look narrower to incentivise reducing speed (it's a 30 kph street).

IMO it's wrong to tag this as a shared lane, every Swiss street is allowed for bicycles by default anyway, and I avoid this street as there is simply no space for cycling in traffic. Tagging it as such would make it look "cycle friendly", which it's definitely not.

The same goes for Kalkbreitestrasse in your other changeset.

And: what is cycleway=shared_bike?

Hi Vasily_S,

I think I have to disagree: Unless the signs at the station don't say otherwise, it should be "Zürich Triemli". The signs have priority. Alternative names (like in the ZVV online timetable) can be tagged with alt_name or other name tags.

The ZVV network map only uses "Triemli", whereas the SBB timetable uses "Zürich Triemli", which is also the name used in public timetable data.

I agree, however, that it's difficult to tell these tram and train stations apart from each other. But this is not our problem, that's the problem of the network.

So, please consider reverting your change and adding "Zürich Triemli SZU" as an alt_name instead.

Thank you for your comments. I think we can agree on that. I'll go over these routes again when I have time and will change the refs and, where signage is not on the ground on the whole route, add state=proposed.

I had a look at unsigned_ref when mapping these routes, but for some reason (I don't remember any more) I decided against using it. But you're right, that probably would be the better way.

I don't think they should be mapped as state=proposed. Officially, they are "bestehend", which doesn't mean they have to be signposted. Please have a look at the Velonetz Alltag Dataset: https://geo.zh.ch/data/maps/67a38125-c862-4406-abab-cdb5eb7f0d44 Sometimes they are signposted, but without a number, just the destination. But, as you correctly pointed out, not everywhere.

Maybe some background about why I wanted to map these routes:
I saw some ways in my region were (seemingly) randomly tagged with lcn=yes. On CyclOSM these are prominently highlighted, and they can indicate to the user that this route is (somewhat) bicycle friendly. I thought this was useful information and wanted to look if Zurich has something similar to the ARRN in Aargau. That's when I found this "Velonetz Alltag" dataset. As this could be really useful information for people who want to start cycling (but don't know which route should be preferred), I decided to map these.

But I have to agree: They're not verifiable on the ground (yet), I hope this will change in the future. But the Geodatenbank of the Canton of Zurich is one of our approved sources.

Die Schienen hier mit emergency=yes zu taggen bringt nicht viel, denn Rettungsdienste setzen in der Regel keine Schienenfahrzeuge ein :D Wenn, dann müsstest du das auf dem dazugehörigen highway=* taggen.

Das sieht nicht ganz richtig aus: Du entfernst hier die Adressen von den Gebäuden und fügst (teils ausserhalb des Umrisses) separate Adressen-Nodes hinzu.

Du müsstest hier z. Bsp. mit dem JOSM-Conflator-Tool arbeiten, sodass die Nodes mit dem bestehenden Gebäude abgeglichen und zusammengeführt werden. So wird auch tatsächlich nur das geändert, was geändert werden muss.

Erkundige dich dazu bitte mal in der OpenStreetMap-Community oder am Stammtisch, bin in Sachen Adressimports auch kein Experte :D

Ja stimmt, so ists noch nicht ganz richtig. Auf dem Schnittpunkt zwischen Tram und Strasse müsste traffic_signals entfernt werden.

Früher hat man traffic_signals jeweils direkt auf dem Schnittpunkt gemappt, das ist aber eher ungenau, vor allem bei komplexeren Kreuzungen, wie zum
Beispiel weiter oben Überlandstrasse/Ringstrasse. Dort wäre nicht klar gewesen, welche Ampel nun in welche Richtung gilt etc. Auch wenn man einen Veloaufstellbereich (cycleway=asl) mappen möchte, ist das Mappen auf der Haltelinie vorausgesetzt.

Hier ist es nun so, dass die traffic_signals nicht fürs Tram gelten, das hat sein eigenes Signal.

Bezüglich Haltelinie siehe auf dieser Wiki-Seite untersten Tabelleneintrag: osm.wiki/DE:Tag:railway%3Dtram_level_crossing
Demnach müsste der Schnittpunkt keinerlei Tags haben.

Ich kanns sonst auch mal anpassen, wie ich mir das überlegt habe, wenn du willst.

If you wanted to map both the hedge and the fence, just create two separate ways sharing the same nodes so that they overlap. One way can then be tagged as a hedge and the other as the fence.

Ich denke, highway=pedestrian und area=yes würden sich nicht mit leisure=schoolyard beissen?
