Changeset When Comment

Hey martinmatejek,

Welcome to OpenStreetMap! I am contacting you because the websites you are adding to these hotels are not correct. booking.com links are not correct because it is not the hotel's official website, but simply a way to rent a spot at a hotel. Points of Interest like hotels should have the website as their official website. For example, in the hotel you edited in this changeset the website should have been https://midamcorp.com/hotels/apcap, the hotel's official website.

Thanks, BubbaJuice

Hi they,

Here was the brief discussion I had about this on one of the changesets that changed the tags. There was also discussion about it in #local-arizona in the OSM US Slack. (https://osmus.slack.com/archives/CF9G71Y4B/p1615931124000900)

So I am assuming more insulators = higher voltage?

36047654 almost 4 years ago

I was more wondering about the voltage value. Can you determine it from the type of wire? Or can you determine it from a high quality aerial image?

Hi bahnpirat,

I was wondering where you were getting your information for the power lines here from. For example, this power line: osm.org/way/177188056

Thanks in advance,

Hey GREGMAP1,

I saw a lot of your edits in Tucson. Thanks for adding all of the buildings. That sort of thing is important. I see you used iD. Did you know that if you press "q" it will make the buildings all right angled. If you could try that next time that would be great. Also, I would appreciate it a lot if you start using Bing Aerial Imagery for your houses. It is much better quality than the imagery you are currently using and would greatly improve the accuracy of the data. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out & ask me.

Thank you,
BubbaJuice

Sorry the bbox is so big. I accidentally downloaded an area in JOSM and didn't modify it but it still was in the changeset. My apologies.

Hey tekim,
I am on a road trip so that it how I surveyed all of the locations I edited. I use the app StreetComplete which is a surveying app for OpenStreetMap data. All of the edited locations have been manually checked by me, in person. As for the large bounding box of the changeset I wish I could have made it smaller but the app does not have that when uploading data. For more information on the app you can read their wiki page: osm.wiki/StreetComplete

Thanks.

Hello Buster,

In this changeset many of the nodes that you edited on tracks have the tag "ele=0.0". This is incorrect as these points on the map are not at the elevation of 0 meters above sea level. If you could fix this it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Joshua and welcome to OpenStreetMap!

Thank you for editing the map with good intentions but the way you have mapped this area in Chicago is incorrect. Because every tree in the natural=wood area was already mapped it was unnecessary to add it. Using natural=grassland was incorrect tagging for the areas of grass that you mapped. Those areas should be tagged with landuse=grass which is a bit controversial in usage but I think should be correct in this instance. It is also not appropriate to delete correct nodes (such as this tree). osm.org/node/7126070953/ Also you should read the wiki (osm.wiki/) for any new tags that you may encounter.

Thank you,
BubbaJuice

People of the channel #local-arizona in the US OSM Slack seem to disagree with you. The user drkludge said, "Secondary looks like a winner to me. ... I save primary more for when a road would be a signed highway and the like." User Arlo also gave me the go ahead on doing this when I asked if there were any objections if I were to do this.

Hey Oregonian3,

Today I am fixing the roads that you have mistagged with "highway=primary" in Tucson and surrounding areas. These are almost all supposed to be "highway=secondary" based on their wiki definitions. osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dsecondary osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dprimary If you could follow up with a message saying that you saw this that would be awesome. Thanks.

Hey Daniel,

I was just joking around when I added these hashtags. I have had no prior explanation that I know of for hashtags up until this point.

I can also assure you this is not a bot edit as I have been hand doing this project using JOSM. In my project I am individually looking at every node/area/relation that has landuse=reservoir. I also am validating the ones that do not have a reservoir there and adding proper tagging at that point.
