Changeset When Comment

Hi! You requested a review. This looks good. Nothing wrong here. You could do things better in future. There are some other buildings to the right of that building which you could map as well. You have tagged this as "building=yes", which isn't *wrong*, but it looks like a barn to me, so "building=barn" would be better. 🙂👍

Hi cw1985! Welcome to OSM! I notice you asked for a review of this changeset. You added the CoCo building, that looks fine.

I'm not sure what's going on with Land of the Giants. From the description, it's a walk, around the pond? If so, you shouldn't tag it as a `leisure=park`, since that's for an area, not a point (or a walk)!

One of the OSM old hands has mapped a local walking route around a lake in Fermanagh here osm.org/#map=16/54.2264/-7.2833 you can have a look for some inspiration if you want.

For "Land of the Giants", you really wanna tag that as a walking route relation. Here's an example of one ( osm.org/relation/1620336#map=16/54.2280/-7.2852 ). Relations can be a bit tricky for new mappers, if you tell me more about the route, then I can fix it up for you. If you put it in as a route relation, then you can add things to "dogs allowed" etc.

Hi Pavel80! Welcome to OSM! I noticed you requested a review of this edit. This looks good! 👍

Two things: (i) In this changeset you have spelled the building as "Old quarry", but to the right/west of it is "Old Quarry". Surely they both should have the capital Q?

(ii) You don't really have to both with the `addr:city=Ballincollig", since software is able to figure that out. But it can't hurt. The most important ones to add are the `addr:housenumber` (or `addr:housename`), and `addr:street`, since you can figure everything else from that. `addr:postcode` (for the Eircode) is good if you're able to get that (and if it makes sense).

Good job with the extra details like number of floors, that's something you can't figure out from the aerial imagery.

Hi, You have changed the name to "Grianán von Aileach", but that's a German name. I don't think that's it's actual name...

Hallo. Du hast die Name zu "Grianán von Aileach" geandert, aber das ist eine deutsche Name. Ich glaube, dass das nicht ihre richtige Name ist....

I'm sorry, I've deleted this node. It doesn't make sense for there to be a bus station here.

You can see some more comments on this note osm.org/note/1144365

Hi! You added a caravan site ( osm.org/node/3807169645 ), but the `tourism=caravan_site` should only be used for real, proper caravan sites. Not places you can park you caravan.

I've deleted it here ( osm.org/changeset/52166391 ) because it's not really there. Please only add *real* caravan sites.

If you'd like to come up with better tagging for "places where you can park you caravan" then by all means do that. :)

Hi, you added a bus station *inside* Croke Park??? That can't be right. Where's the bus station really?

Fair point. Sounds like the pub needs to brush up on their Irish orthography!

"Tir Na Nog"? Shouldn't that be "Tir na nOg"?

50050181 about 8 years ago

FTR, we've been using the sport=gaelic_games for the sport value of GAA facilites osm.wiki/Tag:sport%3Dgaelic_games

50050181 about 8 years ago

The name is probably "Renard GAA", though that's almost just a description, I dunno. Be careful about editing in country where you don't know the local culture. :)

50050181 about 8 years ago

Are you *sure* this is a soccer field?? You've just added a note ( osm.org/note/1053405 ) which says this is called "Renard GAA", if it's GAA then it's *not* soccer?

If you're willing to add the sport=soccer field without local knowledge, then why not add the name field as well?

Ummm.... Why are you adding sqkm tag? If you need to know the area of a country you can just do a geographic calculation? Have you checked the the values you entered match the currently mapped areas? What happens if there is a difference?

This church ( osm.org/way/436786441 ) in the graveyard looks like a ruin.... so it shouldn't be tagged building=yes & amenity=place_of_worship.

Likewise the corner of the graveyard is tagged a place_of_worship, is that right?

Hi. Now that we have better imagery, I've moved this building to what looks like the only building nearby. I did it in this changeset ( osm.org/changeset/49562361 ), and created this building ( osm.org/way/500701959#map=19/51.89361/-9.86837 ). If I did it wrong, feel free to correct it

I don't think that's a soccer pitch, I've changed it here osm.org/changeset/49527802

This building ( osm.org/node/1424371670 ) appears to be in the middle of a field and near a farm

Hi! You added this way here ( osm.org/way/307485161 ) as a tunnel. That's weird. I can't see any tunnel there on Bing aerial. Are you sure that's right?

You have added lots of houses on this stretch of the road with the addr:housenumber=Shinrone. Is that correct? addr:housename is the tag to use if the house has a name, not a number. Do all this houses have the same name??
